Hadnt worked at the Jungle for a while, decided Halloween night to ask Cookie if I could do another show! She so graciously agreed that I could so Saturday Nov 1st I got ready to go do a show. The day was not too good. I had some problems, mostly centered around car trouble (one of the worst kind you can have in our modern, running way of living. However, with some help from my friends I was able to get to the Jungle for the first show, fulfull my promise to Cookie to do at least 2 numbers. I wasnt able to stay for the second show cuz my transportation wanted to go have her some fun times as well. Actually I think she enjoyed the show, and talking with a very sweet bar friend of mine but I only wanted to "use her up" to the tune of one show. (smile) Thanks a million, STEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doing the show just got me out of myself so to speak. I forgot my problems and the fact that my side was hurting and just tried to entertain. I tried to go for the gusto and show all the emotions (I see myself more as an emoting than as a dancer or a razamataz type entertainer). I do Rebecca Lynn Howard's "Forgive". A little story behind this song is that I have been listening to it on the radio for months, maybe a year. Every time I heard it, I thought "wow, if I were still entertaining I would want to do THAT song". Then when I decided to actually do shows again, I couldnt find the artist's name, looked several times and almost gave up. However, suddenly it was on the radio again one day and I "grabbed" the information and ran out and bought it. Wow, kinda like a dream come true.
The other song I did was one that has become like a standard for me...I have done it a couple of times in various shows. It is "10,000 Angels" by Mindy Macready. In the pictures the Mindy song is me in red hair, the Rebecca song is me in blonde. Oh and thanks Vanessa for the loan of the earrings for the first number. Oh the pleasure of an enemble that works together to entertain the audience!!!!
