Well, well, time for Southern Comfort again...and going to Atlanta. The interesting thing about Atlanta is that I have an affinity for one particular bar...the Model T's. It is an especially friendly bar...very open and accepting. Last year Lynda led us in doing "backup" for one of the entertainers: Jewel Holloday. As a result she has started a tradition of doing "We are Family" and having all the SBS/SCC participants in the bar join in. I assume this is only on the nights of Southern Comfort but even so what a reception.
Anyway, ever since last year I had been kinda "dreaming" of doing shows again and thought while there I might as well do a show even though I had my "come back" in Nashville already. Therefore I took one song and on Wednesday night asked if I might do a number. What with Kyle the bartender rooting for me and the kindness of the show director, I was able to do so. I have never gotten such a good reception. Part of this was because there were a lot of SBS members but that is not the entire story. Somebody gave me like 4-5 dollars all folded up...there was truely a line to tip me. Afterward, of course Jewel did "We are........." toward the end of the show and there are a couple of pictures of that and I was included in call backs..as of right now no pictures as I dont know how they would feel about their pictures being on my webpage.
Once again, I LOVE MODEL T'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And finally me with the rest of the wonderful entertainers (except for Jewel who was at the DJ booth) on Wednesday night for the "call back" to end the night. I truely had
a ball and "fit in". (grin)
